New Windows 7 packing

June 28, 2009 Leave a comment
Microsoft has released their new box art and pricing for Windows 7. According to the Windows 7 Team Blog, they said that the customers told them to make it a simple clean design, easy to open, and reduce waste.
"Simple Design
Customers told us they liked the big bold Windows logo and how it clearly communicates that it’s Windows 7. They like larger typefaces to make it easy to read. They also like the background colors for each edition that make it easier to differentiate between Windows 7 Home Premium all the way to Windows 7 Ultimate. In their own words, the “clean” design gives off a “fresh” feel.
Make It Easy To Open
We’ve reduced the number of elements in the package down to three: the plastic case, the paper sleeve, and a simple Getting Started Guide. The plastic case opens easily like a standard DVD case and it will have a single easy-to-remove seal at the top – and that’s it!
Reduce Waste
The plastic case protecting the Windows 7 disk is lighter and is recyclable. The packaging itself has a 37% weight reduction and the econometrics score has improved by 50% over it’s predecessor."

I’ve received some question from my friends of "How to create a Silverlight project in Visual Studio?"
Well, by default, you can’t create a Silverlight project in Visual Studio. But all you need is just to get some add-ons and install it. Then start developing your Silverlight project.
Follow the steps below:
  1. Install Visual Studio 2008 SP1 or Visual Web Developer Express with SP1
  2. Download Silverlight Tools for Visual Studio 2008 SP1 and install it.
  3. Install Microsof Expression Blend 2 and then install Microsoft Expression Blend 2 Service Pack 1
  4. Install Deep Zoom Composer
  5. Download Silverlight Toolkit
  6. Download Silverlight Runtime for Windows OR Silverlight Runtime for Mac

Bing It!

June 3, 2009 Leave a comment
Microsoft has just launched their brand new search engine called "Bing". This search engine replaces the Live Search. One  thing I like most about Bing is that it doesn’t give you the boring view. This is because the background picture changes quite often. Also, those pictures are in very clear/high definition quality. So, you won’t see the same picture everytime you search something with it.
Other than that, now with Bing, you have a new way of searching. Look at the video tour below to get to know more about Bing.
