Have you heard of Skydrive? If you haven’t, let me share with you what is Skydrive.

Windows Live Skydrive is a free online storage place for you to store/back up your important files. It offers a massive 25GB of storage space FREE for you. With Skydrive, you will be able to download your files anywhere with just a few clicks. You can also either share the files with other people or password protect it so that only you have the access to the files. You can share/upload your Documents, Music, Pictures and Videos. Furthermore, you can upload files of any type.

Get started with Windows Live Skydrive

So, what you need to get your FREE online storage? It’s simple, just follow these few steps and you are ready to upload and share files with your friends and co-workers.

Step 1: Sign-up for a Windows Live account here. If you already have a Windows Live account, you can skip this step.

Step 2: Login with your Windows Live account.

Step 3: Click Skydrive on the links on the top of the page and you are ready to Create new folder or upload files to the existing folders.

    GREAT TOOL! I DON\’T HAVE ANY PROBLEM USING IT PERSONALLY, BUT I DON\’T SEE ANY INSTRUCTIONS ANYWHERE FOR HOW FRIENDS, CO-WORKERS ETC. CAN ACCESS MY PUBLIC FILES. ANY HELP ON THIS?? THANKS,MIKE

    Hi Mike,There will be a default Public folder where your friends, co-workers, etc can access. All you have to do is just open the public folder and copy the URL. The URL should be something like this "http://cid-233ca95c27887bc3.skydrive.live.com/home.aspx".With this URL, they can see your public folders also if they are signed in, they can see folders that you allow they to view.Regards,Khai Liang

    I followed the 3 steps and tried to drag and drop some pics into a newly-created folder. Didn\’t work. I tried it 2 more times and it didn\’t work those times, either. I now like Sky drive as much as I like Windows 7- and for the exact same reason: It doesn\’t work as promised.
