It will now run the diagnostic to detect for problems.

Notification of comments for Windows Live Spaces blog?

November 14, 2009 3 comments

If you ever used Windows Live Calendar, you will probably notice that you will receive email notifications for an event that is around the corner (provided you have set the reminder). This reminder email was sent automatically according to the time how long before the event starts. These type of notifications is important because it reminds you about an event that is happening.

Now, since I’ve been using Windows Live Services blog for quite some time already, I was wondering if there is any form of notifications email informing us that somebody over the Internet had dropped a comment on one of our blog post? Personally, I find this feature quite important as it is important for the blog owner to communicate with his/her blog viewers. As far as I know currently, for you to know if there is anybody ever dropped any comments on your blog post, you have to manually click on the Recent Comments link to see it for yourself. However, with our busy life going on everyday, it is quite impossible for us to be clicking on that link every time particularly on blogs that have high number of visitors.

So, if you know about any way of getting this type of comments email notifications for Windows Live Spaces blog, please do share with us.

There are lots of cool plug-ins for Windows Live Writer available to download and use. However, this plug-in was one of the coolest plug-in I’ve found so far. You’ll love it more if you use Windows Live Writer & Twitter.

TwitterNotify

Let me introduce you to Twitter Notify. From its name, you’ll probably be guessing that it’s some plug-in that links to Twitter. Yes! You are right. What is does is that whenever you publish a post via Windows Live Writer, it will help you to send a Tweet announcing that you have added a post. It uses the TinyURL service to shorten the link to your post.

Furthermore, it also allows you to customize the Tweet message format. You can change it in the Options menu. If you have installed it, you can find this plug-in under Tools > Options > Plug-ins tab. For those of you who haven’t get this cool plug-in, what are you waiting for? Download it now.

Windows 7 – Use small icons in start menu

November 1, 2009 2 comments

From Windows Vista, the default icon size in the Start menu is large. To some people, it might be a bit not convenient because by using those large icons, you are limited to few programs that you use often. The best way is to use the small icon size in the Start menu. This will let you see more programs that you had recently opened.

Below are the step-by-step guide on how to change your Start menu large icon to a small icon.

Step 1: Simply Right-Click on the Start Menu orb and choose Properties.

Step 2: Check the “Use small icons” checkbox and click OK.

Finally, click on the Start menu orb and see a whole lot more programs that you recently opened.
